In this Staff Review, Team Wiggle's Tim Wiggins gives us his opinion of the new SKINS DNAmic Long Tight - a brilliant new product from the compression specialists.
"Increase endurance performance, and reduce fatigue and the risk of injury" - that promise from SKINS was just too appealing, when I had the Original Mountain Marathon (The OMM) approaching; requiring a pair of running tights to get me through the 11 hours of running up mountains, in Scotland…
Compression technology relies on the fabric wrapping and supporting the leg muscles; consequently increasing circulation and muscle blood supply, and therefore aiding performance and recovery. The technology is beneficial for all running distances - from Park Run to Mountain Marathon; but it is particularly good for endurance running, when subsequent days of exertion leave your muscles well used, and in need of the best possible performance and recovery.
Compression tights need to fit like (or better than) a glove - the technology just doesn't work if they're baggy. To endure you get the right fit, the product page for the SKINS DNAmic Long Tights contains a detailed size chart, to help you find the optimal fit. Once you've got that, and slipped on your new tights, you'll feel noticeably more supported and secure.
As well as the benefits of compression, the SKINS DNAmic Long Tights provide superb breathability, moisture wicking and temperature regulation; great attributes for all-season running wear. The seams on the tights are un-noticeable, despite the snug fit; whilst the elastic waist band keeps things firmly held up.
These are comfortable, highly supportive, and superbly made. I couldn't have asked for anything more from a pair of running tights, than what has been delivered by the DNAmic SKINS tights - they are a real quality piece of apparel.
